The Singularity is the leading documentary about the moment that machines will equal human intelligence, consciousness and creativity. Very informative, highly speculative and controversial, this film never fails to raise discussions. So, one is planned Sunday afternoon after the last showing of this documentary.

Singularity is both feared and welcomed. For the documentary, Wolens interviewed a range of thinkers several times over a period of ten years. This gives the viewer a very nuanced and complete story about the possible impact of singularity.

“Doug Wolens began working on his latest documentary, The Singularity, 12 years ago, upon reading Kurzweil’s The Age of Spiritual Machines. Wolens collected footage for the film beginning in 2005, video interviewing over 120 people in the process, and gathering hundreds of hours of footage. The Singularity is a large-scale achievement in its documentation of futurist and counter-futurist ideas, and in my opinion, is the best documentary on the Singularity to date.” (Nikki Olson, transhumanist writer/researcher, Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies IEET)
